But, I have a grow light inside to start the seeds off, and I know I won't ever get melons.
Anyway, thanks for the encouraging post, it's much appreciated. I really enjoy your blog.
Keep up the great work!Carolynhttp://taleweaversramblings.blogspot.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-417192197645926716.post-7869701325888299582011-04-17T20:58:16.123-04:002011-04-17T20:58:16.123-04:00William- Thanks for stopping by. I sprinkle about a cup or two of ammonium nitrate or pea gravel on them and water them deeply for several weeks. My bales started to reduce in size which is a good thing because that means they are decompising which is perfect for the plants. This year I am growing melons, cantalopes, yellow squash, table squash and advacodo squash in bales. Some will do better than others. But the great thing about the bales is that it is little maintenance and you don't have to bend or till the soil. Just fertilze now and again and water frequently.ATWhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09634611792880885608noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-417192197645926716.post-28494436743321380302011-04-17T20:33:57.093-04:002011-04-17T20:33:57.093-04:00Did you have to prepare the bale?Did you have to prepare the bale?William K.
